The very thought of Abby starting school brings a tear to my eye. Add in a new school, with new people, and that fact that Nana won't be there everyday to check on her, I almost become panicky. However, as He has done throughout this whole adventure, God has provided us with a wonderful school for Abby. Valle Crucis Elementary is located in an almost a picturesque setting. Located in a valley, surrounded by mountains, it offers a small school family which is great for Abby. About 400 students K-8 attend this school so Abby will quickly learn the people involved in her education.
Abby had a wonderful experience in kindergarten. Mrs. Pence, Abby's kindergarten teacher, was the perfect fit for Abby. She challenged Abby while understanding Abby's emotional side as well. She always encouraged, supported, and loved Abby. I was concerned Abby would never find another teacher like Mrs. Pence. Yet, Mrs. Matthews, her first grade teacher, has proven to be another perfect fit for Abby.
Thus far, Abby has really enjoyed school. She still doesn't know the names of her classmates, but at least she knows the teacher's name:) In time, she will make friends and as we become more established in the community, her circle of friends will increase.
Glad Abby is enjoying her new school! Miss seeing you guys around here, but so glad things are going well at your new home!
ReplyDeleteAwww.....I miss you guys so much. You need to send your address so Allie and Abby can keep contact. But I'm so glad you all are doing good and that Abby likes school so much. Let us know if your up this way and we'll have to get the girls together!
ReplyDeleteThanks girls!!! I miss you all too! We are really enjoying it down here. Lisa--Abby has her softball team picture hanging on her door as well as the all star picture from the paper. (Mom sent it too her.) She says her friend Allie is in it, so she had to hang it up. Hope all is going well with you all. BTW Sarah, your pictures of Blaze are great!!!
