Where Have I Been???

Wow!!!  My last post was on May 25.  Summer of 2012 has flown by and I didn't take time to document the HUGE changes that have occurred with the Wilson's!!!  Jude can rollover and eating baby food, Abby learned to tie her shoes and started first grade, Micah has grown about two inches, and we moved!!!  Did I mentioned that we moved almost 6 1/2 hours away to North Carolina?  Sounds crazy, I know, but this was not a move made in haste or without lots of prayer. 

A couple of years ago when Josh was still working for Kentucky Farm Bureau, we met a couple, Anthony and Amy Reese, in Austria (They were even highlighted in my blog.)  Anyway, Josh and Anthony discussed business quite a bit on the trip and the possibility of Josh working for Anthony.  So in October of 2010, we made the trip to Boone, NC to discuss the prospective job opportunity.  However, we decided that the change was not right for our family at the time.

Fast forward to April 2012---Anthony calls Josh and mentions that the position is still available.  Although Josh had a good job with Fresh Start Farms, he felt the Lord pulling him in a different direction.  So in May we travel the 6 1/2 hours to Boone and visited again...but with a much different outcome.  Josh and I prayed and discussed all the possible outcomes that such a move could have on our family.  It would be one thing if it was just Josh and I, however, moving with three children can be very difficult.  The old saying "it takes a village to raise a child" is such a true statement and we had a very large village in Kentucky. So my one stipulation for moving to North Carolina was for me to stay at home.  So not only did Josh take a new position, we move two states away, but I am also jobless for the first time in my adult life!!!  Sounds so crazy to put all of this in words and reflect on all of these major life changes. 

Josh moved at the end of June and the kids and I moved mid-July.  The transition has been much easier than I anticipated, thanks to many prayers.  Abby sometimes becomes sad and discusses missing her friends and cousins, but that is to be expected.  This is a lot to ask of a six-year old.  The boys have done great.  Josh had made the move away from his family when we got married.  So the biggest changes were for me and Abby.  However, kids are resilient and Abby will quickly make friends.

I obviously miss my family, especially Mom and Dad.  I have only lived in one place my entire life.  (College doesn't really count because I was home most weekends:)  My parents, siblings, nephews, and BOTH sets of grandparents literally all lived within 15 minutes of our house.  In addition to the close proximity of my family, we all went to church together, which is priceless.  I was raised in this type of situation and always assumed my children would as well.  However, God had different plans for our family and even led us to a fabulous new church family.  Although the miles are many, our love for each other is what holds a family together.  Thank you to everyone who has offered support and prayers on this new adventure.
